QUALIFIED DIESEL & ELECTRCAL MECHANIC WANTED – PRETORIA
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Qualified Diesel & Electrical Mechanic based in Pretoria. The role involves performing diagnostics, repairs, and routine servicing on diesel-powered vehicles, hydraulic pumps, and related heavy equipment. Daily tasks include troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults, conducting scheduled preventive maintenance, and ensuring all equipment meets operational and safety standards. The mechanic will inspect components, replace or repair defective parts, maintain accurate service records, and collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime. The role also requires adherence to workshop safety procedures, proper use of tools and testing equipment, and occasional support for field service work at client locations.
Qualifications
• Strong diesel mechanics skills, including diagnosing and repairing diesel truck engines and electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Expertise in vehicle maintenance, covering inspection, servicing, and repair of vehicles used in hydraulic pump and equipment operations.
• Ability to work with heavy equipment, including safe handling, fault-finding, and component replacement.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, including planning and executing maintenance schedules.
• Relevant trade qualification or certification as a diesel mechanic or automotive/electrical technician.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and maintenance documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety standards.
• Willingness to work on-site in Pretoria and perform occasional overtime or call-outs as needed.
• Previous experience in industrial or pump-related environments is advantageous.
• Experience as foreman advantageous
