Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site Engineer role based in Gauteng, South Africa. The Engineer will support projects by applying engineering principles to design, analyze, and optimize structures and equipment. Day-to-day activities include reviewing technical requirements, performing calculations, creating and updating CAD models, and collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate 3D laser scan data integration. The role involves preparing technical documentation, participating in site visits and inspections, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to meet project timelines and quality standards. The Engineer is expected to contribute to continuous improvement of processes and to support innovation in technology-based solutions.
Qualifications:
•Strong foundation in engineering disciplines in Civil and Structural Engineering, with the ability to apply core principles to mining and telecommunication projects.
•ECSA registered
•Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and familiarity with 3D laser scanning workflows and software applications.
•Capability to interpret technical drawings, conduct engineering calculations, and produce clear, accurate technical reports and documentation.
•Effective project coordination skills, including planning tasks, managing priorities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on-site and in the office.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on safety, quality, and industry best practices.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage constructively with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
•Experience in mining or telecommunications environments is beneficial, as is familiarity with local and international engineering standards and regulations.
