BEWARE OF RANSOMWARE
You can be infected when you unknowingly download ransomware from:
1. Compromised Website
2. Spammed email
3. Other Malware

Once infected a Ransom Note instructs the victim how to download the required unlocking software and key after a ransom is paid.
The paying of the ransom does not guarantee that the files will be recovered.

The only 100% Guaranteed way is to have a Backup of the Data on a device or drive not connected to your computer or network. Backing up to the cloud will not help as the Virus will encrypt all data on attached drives whether they are network drives or cloud drives.
