Li@bility is a mine closure compliance tool, providing the user with immediate access to an operation specific integrated mine closure and legal compliance framework. The software solution is designed to interface with a Google virtual mining platform upon which, virtually, a replica of a planned or existing mine can be created by dragging and dropping representative icons into a selected map area. The software automatically generates a closure cost assessment (in line with the MPRDA 2004) and an environmental legal compliance register. The software programme offers the user the opportunity to iterate and change the planned and or existing mining layout, creating a further benefit of informed decision making on aspects related to financial provisions and environmental legal compliance requirements (NEMA, MPRDA, NWA, NEMAQA, NHRA, NEMWA).
