Sometimes all you need is a place to start. A chance to use your skills.

For Elvis Kekana, that chance came through Signa Opportunity

Through the YES Programme (Youth Employment Service), which gives young South Africans practical workplace experience, Elvis started working as an IT technician. It was his first step into the workplace, where he could apply his skills and gain experience.

For a young man from Tembisa working to build his career, that mattered.

"I thank Signa for positively contributing to my career and giving me the opportunity to apply my skills and abilities."

Elvis hopes to pass on what he has learnt, encourage others and be an example of what hard work and dedication can lead to.

His advice to young people says a lot about how he approaches his own life:

"Seize every opportunity with both hands, no matter how big or small it may look, because everything begins with humble beginnings."

Are you a strategic, creative thinker with a passion for marketing, education and business growth?

We're looking for a Marketing Coordinator to develop and own the implementation of Signa Academy's marketing strategy, from strategic planning and campaign development to script and content writing and brand consistency. This role works closely with our Social Media & Digital Marketer, Graphic Designer and Sales team to bring campaigns to life, with real ownership from planning through to hands-on ex*****on.

What we're looking for:
✅ A degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications or equivalent
✅ 2–4 years' experience in a fast-paced marketing environment (B2B, education, skills development or professional services preferred)
✅ Proven experience writing scripts, copy and content across multiple formats and channels
✅ Confident using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to support strategy, content and research
✅ Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to translate strategy into practical, executable campaigns

Are you digitally savvy, creative, and passionate about bringing brands to life online?

We're looking for a Digital Marketer to own the day-to-day management of Signa Academy's social media, digital advertising, email marketing and website. Bringing our marketing strategy and campaigns to life across every digital channel. This is a hands-on role focused on audience growth, engagement and measurable digital performance, working closely with our Marketing Coordinator and Graphic Designer.

Jonathan Gerson's journey has never been straightforward.

As a teenager, an unexplained medical condition suddenly left him struggling to walk, changing the course of his life overnight. Like many South Africans, he had the determination to succeed but simply needed someone to believe in his potential.

That opportunity came through a Business Practice Learnership at Signa Academy

The programme equipped Jonathan with practical business skills, but perhaps more importantly, it gave him the opportunity to prove himself.

Rather than simply completing the learnership, Jonathan looked for ways to add value. Recognising the need for assessors who could support learners in different languages, Jonathan saw an opportunity to contribute and stepped forward. His initiative and work ethic caught the attention of Signa's leadership, opening the door to a permanent position in the Group's Finance Department.

Today, Jonathan is building a career, regaining the independence he once feared he had lost, and investing in someone else's future by helping fund his younger sister's university education. His success has become an opportunity for another person to pursue theirs.

This is how impact is created through opportunity.

It begins with one person being given a chance. It grows when that person chooses to make the most of it. And it multiplies when the benefits reach families, communities, and future generations.

In Jonathan's words:

What we're looking for:
✅ A relevant degree (Business, Finance, Operations Management, or Training & Development — NQF Level 9 preferred)
✅ Minimum 5 years' experience in high-level academic, corporate Learning & Development, or operations management
✅ A proven track record building new divisions, schools, or premium education products
✅ Extensive knowledge of the South African education and regulatory landscape (SETA, QCTO, NQF)
