SAAHSP members can also access them through our portal.

We urge our members to read the potential changes and comment before 12 June 2026 18h00 which is cut off time.

You can submit your comments, concerns or suggestions about the potential changes directly to Allied Health .
Email Address : [email protected] and if you like you can copy your professional body too: [email protected]

Why are we continuing the discussion and engagement?

Allied Health plan to implement the Somatology Register which will force all Somatologists to become Allied Health Members and Open Shop and product commission is not part of their regulations.

The changes don't affect somatologists today but if the new legislation is passed Somatologists will need to register with Allied Health and abide by their laws and legislation and ensure the scope of practise is adhered to. Failure to do so will have serious consequences.

Be aware of the potential changes. Together as an industry we continue to stand together to protect our industry.

Coschem Presidential Brunch 2026

Yesterday, we hosted the third Coschem Presidential Luncheon, an initiative created to bring together our current President, Vice President, and past Presidents in a spirit of connection, collaboration, and shared purpose.

The brunch provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the Society's journey, exchange ideas, and explore innovative ways to strengthen and grow Coschem for future generations. It was an inspiring morning filled with meaningful conversations as past Presidents shared their perspectives on questions such as:

๐Ÿ”น What was the biggest challenge facing the Society during their Presidency?

๐Ÿ”น If they could introduce one bold initiative for the future, what would it be?

๐Ÿ”น Which committee meeting or event did they remember most vividly?

As Coschem approaches its 50th anniversary next year, we are reminded that our success is built on the dedication, passion, and commitment of those who have served before us. Their leadership has helped shape the vibrant Society we are today.

While several past Presidents were unable to attend due to geographical commitments and other engagements, their contributions to Coschem remain invaluable and are deeply appreciated. Their legacy continues to inspire and guide us as we look toward the future.

A heartfelt thank you to all our past and present leaders for their unwavering commitment to the Society and the cosmetic science community. Together, we continue to build on a remarkable foundation as we prepare to celebrate 50 years of Coschem excellence.

โ˜€๏ธ Inorganic UV Filters in Sunscreens: Photocatalysis & Performance

Australia experiences some of the highest UV levels in the world, with skin cancer incidence rates to match. Sunscreens are a critical line of defence, but how well do real formulations perform under the UV conditions consumers actually encounter, and what trade-offs exist between broad-spectrum protection, photostability, and the photocatalytic side-reactions of inorganic UV filters?

This webinar dives into
