Mmmmmmmm koaaaaa. The 3D depth of figure in this 6 piece, flitch matched set is unbelievable. Thanx to the folks at for doing what they do and pulling out all the stops.

Jewellery box made from American Walnut with a rippled sycamore liner. The joints are mitered dovetails and the hinges solid brass imported from a company called Brusso in the United (not so much lately) States of America.

The finish is traditional Shellac, as secreted by the nether regions of the female 'lac' bug (true story).

We will do several finishes over the next few days, taking our time to bring the warmth of the wood to life. She's a beautiful piece: the test of handcrafted accuracy is she closes with a whisper, the lid slotting perfectly into place.
