The event will be attended by dignitaries from national, provincial and the Sedibeng local municipalities as well as local community representatives and local business and will feature music and poetry performance from local as well as a discussion with Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa, MP and former COSAS and ANC Youth League President Lulu Johnson and Adv/Acting Judge Gcina Malindi, former Delmas Treason Trialist. The will also be entertainment by the iconic Jonas Gwangwa.

Former Mozambican President Jacquim Chissano is set to deliver the inaugural lecture of Vaal uprising. This is in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the event. The commemoration takes place on Tuesday evening at the Sedibeng City Hall, in Vereeniging, in Gauteng.
