As we enter yet another National Shut down day, I think it is important to look at the effect that this has on small business, the economy and is it actually helping the cause. In an economy with an already tight budget, were more people are being pushed below the poverty line , the vat increase has left even less items in our basket at the check out line , is it advisable to cripple the economy even further. Yes the minimum wage should not be decreased, it's a sentiment I fully support. But I think the Unions should provide solutions that government can implement rather than just striking all the time. And as a nation notorius strike season, I think that our President as a business man needs to help the Unions understand the adverse effects of these strikes. Marching for change and righteous causes as a nation is one thing, but crippling the economy in an attempt to maintain the wages is outdated. We need to be supporting small business, supporting local and finding ways of growing the economy.
