Good day Royalty fam
Today I'm gonna focus on two topics:
* The use of silicone on human hair wigs
* The significance of Deep Conditioning a human hair wigs
Silicone
Now I know most of my Queens use silicone based products on wigs because you were told that it's what you should use for wigs and I admit it is a good product when used correctly. Silicone is almost like rubber and/or plastic. It is used as a sealant against water and even air. It is not a natural ingredient, and its side effects are bad for our hair and even our human hair wigs. It gives the hair the illusion of shine, but it is not the shine we wantβit is a fake shine from the plastic. The shine we want is when the cuticle layer is sealed and light reflects off the hair. This only happens when hair is properly hydrated and kept as healthy as possible. So unless you know how to properly use silicone based products please stay away from them. Rather use products whose first or second ingredient is water/aqua (it's important to familiarize yourself with reading the ingredients before buying hair care products)
The significance of Deep Conditioning a human hair wig
Human hair wigs need to be maintained with moisture. To properly care for a human hair wig you need to ensure that you wash and condition it every six to eight wears and deep conditioning is demanded every three to five washes. This will rehydrate and restore moisture on any human hair wig. And to keep it in that hydrated state ensure that you invest in a quality leave in conditioner and apply it every other day to prevent your wig from being weighed down.
