70 years ago, 20,000 brave women marched for equality and change. 50 years ago, Richards Bay Minerals was founded with a vision for industrial excellence. Today, those two legacies meet.
Over the past decade, RBM has nearly doubled its female representation - moving from 15% in 2015 to 28% in 2026. But true progress is about more than numbers, it’s about providing structured platforms like our Imbokodo Programme and Women in Mining (WiM) Committee to empower women at every level. Beyond our operations, we are also committed to empowering women in our host communities by supporting opportunities that enable them to participate, lead and contribute to sustainable local development. As we acknowledge the women leading, shaping and inspiring progress across our business and communities, we reflect on Maya Angelou's words: "I come as one, but I stand as ten thousand."
To every woman shaping RBM and our communities - Happy Women’s Day!
