The system is installed. But is the design intent still intact?

An HVAC project reaching completion doesn't automatically mean the system is performing as originally intended. The real test is whether the finished installation delivers what the design set out to achieve.

Efficiency can be lost long before the system is switched on.

A carefully designed HVAC system doesn't automatically become an efficient HVAC system.

Between the drawing board and operation, there are countless decisions that can influence performance.

Equipment substitutions.
Installation quality.
Ductwork and insulation.
Controls and sensors.
Coordination on site.

Individually, these decisions may seem minor.

Collectively, they can determine whether the finished system performs as intended.

Design creates the opportunity for efficiency.
Delivery determines whether that opportunity is protected.

An HVAC system can be carefully designed, correctly specified and engineered for efficient performance.

But what happens between the drawing board and day-to-day operation?

The reality of construction, installation, commissioning and ongoing operation can all influence how closely a system performs against its original design intent.

An efficient HVAC system is what is ultimately delivered and how it performs in operation.

Are you an HVAC professional looking for your next challenge?

Atlas Air Conditioning is seeking an HVAC Project Coordinator & Estimator to join our Projects Department in Honeydew, Johannesburg.

We're looking for someone with commercial HVAC experience who can confidently interpret drawings, prepare accurate quotations and estimates and support the successful delivery of projects from award through to completion.

If you have a strong technical understanding of HVAC systems and enjoy working with clients, suppliers and project teams to deliver exceptional results, we'd like to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will have:
✔ HVAC project coordination experience
✔ Estimating and quotation experience
✔ Commercial HVAC technical knowledge
✔ Strong organisational and communication skills
✔ Experience interpreting architectural and mechanical drawings
