Hello Everyone!

We all have unconscious beliefs about money – “money secrets” that can influence the way you see money, use money, save money and even think about money every day. At Nedbank we believe that there lies great power in understanding your relationship with money – whether you’re a Penny Pincher who likes to save, a Risker who loves to go all in, or a Big Shot who likes to spend to impress.

That’s why Nedbank, in partnership with Matentjie Consulting services created the Money Secrets quiz to help you determine your financial archetype and understand how best to apply these money secrets in your daily life.

Find out your money archetype at the link below.

https://secrets.movie.liqstage.co.za/quiz

This quiz consists of 8 sections, each relating to a different aspect of your relationship with money. Simply complete each section by selecting the responses that best reflect your feelings about the various statements.

There is no right or wrong answer, so don’t overthink it.

The Nedbank Money Secrets Movie will explore your emotional relationship with money and help you make a positive change when making financial decisions.

Given that it was such a popular topic, here are A Few Tips on How to Healthily Manage Passive Aggression in various relationships.
What to Do:
•Re-establish your need to keep/maintain a cordial relationship with the person at hand
•Communicate your grievance(s) with them
•Importantly, acknowledge and take responsibility for the harm that you have done
•Take notice of the choices you are making
o To accept/reject what the other person is doing (i.e., their area of development)
o To accept or change your area of development
Once you have gained clarity on the points above, and have decided that you want to maintain the relationship, you need to decide on the mood and manner of you approach in dealing with the passive aggression. In addition to being mindful of the timing and setting of when to do it, you also need to bear the following in mind:
•Who: acknowledge your perspective of the issue
•What: unpack your experience
o Look into your thoughts, feelings and actions
o Your and their contribution to the problem
•When: focus on the current issue at hand
o Do not over-generalize or blow things out of proportion
•Where: the OUTCOME you seek
•How: solutions/suggestions on a way forward; whether it is by yourself or together
•Why: your investment in the relationship
Now, what if you are the culprit?
•Arrested Development: when did you begin using passive aggression to communicate your grievances?
•Develop the vocabulary to articulate your needs. Maybe you:
o Are frequently at a loss for words
o Say the wrong things that end up escalating the fight
•You should first acknowledge what you feel and need, as well as what outcomes you seek in both yourself and others – but make sure to leave room for disappointment.
•Emotional Endurance: staying in power in order to not give up on yourself or your partner. This is done by:
o Reminding yourself of your ‘Big Picture’
o Reminding yourself of why you started this relationship in the first place
o Taking back your liberties by implementing self-care
•Emotional Resiliency:
o Healing
o Recovery
o Bouncing back
o Letting go
o Acceptance of what you can/cannot control
