🌍 BCG Africa Alumni Spotlight featuring Justice Adu

Structured thinking. People focus. Comfort with uncertainty. Meet Justice Adu, BCG Lagos alumnus and Career Development Advisor at Oxford University.

👣 His journey:
Originally from Ghana, Justice began his career in energy and investment banking before joining Africa Foresight Group, where he worked across markets on the continent. After completing his MBA at Oxford University, he joined BCG Lagos as the office’s first summer intern, growing into the role of Project Leader. Over three years, he worked across financial services, energy, and climate & sustainability, collaborating with teams in Cairo, Casablanca, Johannesburg, London, Madrid, Milan, Nairobi, and Zurich. Today, he is back at Oxford as a Career Development Advisor, helping students navigate pivotal moments in their careers.

💭 His leadership mindset:
Justice leads with calm, structure, and a deep focus on people. He believes the most underrated consulting skill is listening, and that what truly stays with you after BCG is the confidence to figure things out even when you don’t have all the answers.

“You carry structured thinking into everything: how you approach problems, how you communicate, how you make decisions. That part doesn’t leave you.”

💥 His view on Africa’s potential:
“The talent is there, and so is the ambition. What’s still developing are the systems needed to better support, connect, and grow that talent over time. That includes mentorship, exposure, and access; as well as stronger involvement from those who have already gone through these paths.”

Justice’s story is one of intentionality, structured curiosity, and quiet ambition. He reminds us that leaving consulting is not stepping away from impact; it’s choosing where to apply it next.

From early starts to long rides—some of our BCGers took on the this year 🚴‍♂️

Robin Lavers and Christopher van de Vyver were out on the course, with the BCG kit making an appearance along the way.

Great to see the same energy and commitment carried beyond the office.

Notably, Michael Schumann finished in a top qualifying spot in his age group, securing a place at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships in Tokyo.
