📢 YOUR VOICE MATTERS: Help Us Improve SAPS DFO Service Delivery National-Wide! 🇿🇦
We have been given a crucial opportunity to escalate recurring service delivery issues regarding SAPS Designated Fi****ms Officers (DFOs) directly to a senior national level. To make our submission as powerful and credible as possible, we need your factual, firsthand experiences.

If you have recently submitted a fi***rm licence application, competency application, or renewal, please share your experience with us.
We are collecting specific feedback on the following 10 key areas:
1. 🕒 Availability: Is your local DFO available every working day, or only during highly specific, restricted hours?
2. 📅 Appointments: Are you forced to make an appointment to submit applications? Is this an official policy or just "the way they do things" at that station?
3. 🔄 Replacement Staff: If the main DFO is away on leave or training, is there a fully trained backup willing to help you, or does service grind to a halt?
4. ⏳ Appointment Waiting Times: If appointments are required, how long do you wait to get one? Days, weeks, or months?
5. 🤝 Attitude & Conduct: How would you describe the DFO’s behavior? (e.g., Professional, friendly, helpful, or unhelpful, unapproachable, rude?)
6. 🧠 Knowledge & Competence: Did the DFO accurately understand the Fi****ms Control Act (FCA) requirements and their own responsibilities?
7. 📱 SMS Turnaround: How long did it take from the physical day you handed in your application until you received an official SMS confirmation?
8. 🔫 Fi***rm Inspections: For renewals, did the DFO insist on physically inspecting your fi***rm? What exactly did they request?
9. ⚖️ Inconsistent Requirements: Have you experienced different "rules" at different stations? (e.g., one station demanding documents or photos that the law doesn't actually require?)
10. 💬 Other Concerns: Any other specific procedural anomalies, systemic bottlenecks, or issues you believe national leadership needs to know?

⚠️ How to make your feedback count:
To present an undeniable, pattern-based case to SAPS management, please include the following factual details in your feedback where possible:
• Province & Police Station name
• Approximate date of the incident
• Type of application (Competency, New Licence, Renewal)
• Exactly what occurred or what you were told

🔒 Your privacy is safe with us:
All submissions will be treated with the strictest confidentiality. Your information will be entirely anonymised in the final national report. No individual applicant will ever be identified.
📥 How to submit your experience:
Please email us at [email protected]

Let’s use this constructive opportunity to build a fair, consistent, and efficient licensing system for all lawful fi***rm owners. Thank you for your time and support!

This is the reason fi***rm owners must support organisations like Natshoot.

Natshoot is closely monitoring the ongoing legal and regulatory dispute relating to fi***rm training accreditation in South Africa.

At the centre of the matter is the future of the current fi***rm training qualification framework, which impacts fi***rm proficiency training, competency applications, training providers, and the broader fi***rms industry.

The current interim court arrangement remains in place until 30 June 2026, while decisions regarding the future of the qualification framework are considered.

Natshoot will be making formal submissions to Parliament in support of:
✅ Maintaining high training standards
✅ Protecting lawful fi***rm ownership
✅ Ensuring industry stability and continuity
✅ Preventing unnecessary disruption to training and competency processes

This matter affects not only fi***rm owners, but also public safety, training quality, and thousands of industry-related jobs across South Africa.

We encourage Natshoot members and the public to stay informed through credible sources as the process develops.
