YOUR PRESENCE MATTERS!!

To every person who continues to show up, speak up, support, participate, and hold space with us โ€” thank you.

Your presence reminds us that community is not built through perfection, but through people choosing each other again and again, especially in times where visibility, love, and belonging still require courage.

As we move into the weekend, may you carry the warmth of knowing that you are valued, appreciated, and deeply seen. Every conversation, every share, every moment of support helps us create safer, louder, and more affirming spaces for q***r people in rural areas and small towns.

Together, we are building something meaningful, progressive, and powerful.

On the 17th of May 2026, we gathered for the IDAHOBIT Dialogue hosted by Colour Me Foundation โ€” not just to commemorate a day, but to confront painful truths that many still choose to ignore.

The conversations were deep. Emotional. Heavy. Honest.

We heard stories of q***r people in rural areas and small towns still living in fear โ€” fear of being attacked, rejected, humiliated, silenced, and abandoned simply for existing. We listened to the lived realities of trans women facing brutal violence and le***an women constantly navigating hate, discrimination, and corrective violence in communities that should protect them.

What made this dialogue different was the truth in the room. No filters. No sugarcoating. Just people speaking from wounds that are still fresh.

We were honoured to have ADV.Oarabile Gaoraelwe from the North West Human Rights Commission joining us as Keynote Speaker, reminding us that human rights cannot only exist in cities and policies while rural q***r lives continue to be erased in silence.

These conversations reminded us that visibility without safety is not freedom. Representation without protection is not justice.

There is still so much work to do.

But in that virtual room, q***r people from villages, townships, and small towns chose courage over silence. And that matters.

WE DONโ€™T JUST SELL MERCH โ€” WE SUSTAIN COMMUNITY.

Every T-shirt you wear and every cup you use carries more than a logo โ€” it carries the work we do, the spaces we protect, and the people we show up for when it matters the most.

This is how we keep Colour Me Foundation going.
No noise. No shortcuts. Just community choosing to stand with community.

Our T-shirts (R400) and Cups (R40) are intentionally made โ€” good quality, because we respect the gesture behind every purchase. This isnโ€™t just support, itโ€™s participation in something bigger than all of us.

If youโ€™ve ever believed in what we do, this is one of the simplest ways to stand with us.๐Ÿ’œ

On this IDAHOBIT Day, we are reminded that safety, dignity, love, and freedom are not privileges โ€” they are human rights. For many q***r people in rural areas and small towns, fear, rejection, violence, and silence are still part of everyday life. That truth cannot be ignored.

Todayโ€™s dialogue is more than a conversation. It is a reminder that our voices matter, our lives matter, and our existence deserves protection, visibility, and respect in every community and every space.๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

THE FUTURE OF Q***R VISIBILITY MUST INCLUDE RURAL PEOPLE TOO.

Tomorrow, 17 May 2026, Colour Me Foundation hosts an IDAHOBIT Virtual Dialogue challenging the silence, exclusion and everyday realities faced by LGBTQIA+ people in rural areas and small towns.

As conversations around q***r rights continue to grow globally, many of our communities are still fighting for basic dignity, safety, recognition and freedom. This dialogue creates space for honest conversations that are relevant to our lived realities โ€” not just headlines.

We are honoured to welcome Moikanyi Kadise as our Guest Speaker, alongside Faith Edmunds as Master of Ceremony for this important engagement.

Visibility without inclusion means nothing.
Progress must reach all of us. โœŠ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

In small towns and rural areas, being q***r can feel lonely.
You learn to hide.
To whisper.
To act โ€œnormalโ€ so people leave you alone.

This IDAHOBIT, we are having the conversations many people avoid.

Colour Me Foundation welcomes Adv. Oarabile Gaoraelwe from the South African Human Rights Commission as our Key Note Speaker for a real and honest dialogue about what it means to be q***r in rural communities and small towns.

Because our stories matter too.
Our pain matters too.
Our existence matters too.

For many LGBTQIA+ people in villages and small towns, human rights still feel distant, representation still feels rare, and visibility still comes with fear, silence and survival. While the world speaks about progress, many of our communities are still asking: โ€œDo they even see us?โ€

This IDAHOBIT, Colour Me Foundation brings together powerful voices, lived realities and uncomfortable truths in a dialogue that centres rural and small-town LGBTQIA+ experiences โ€” because our stories matter too. From faith, mental health and activism to student life and community support, this conversation is about more than awarenessโ€ฆ it is about dignity, safety, belonging and the right to exist freely.

IDAHOBIT 2026. RURAL Q***R VOICES.๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

For many q***r people in rural areas and small towns, survival often means shrinking ourselves to fit into spaces that were never built to protect us.
We learn to hide, soften our truth, laugh through pain, and celebrate quietly โ€” just to feel safe.

But existing should never feel like a battle.

This is a reminder that our lives matter beyond Pride Month, beyond hashtags, beyond tolerance. We deserve safety, dignity, opportunity, and the freedom to exist loudly and fully in the communities we call home.

To every q***r person feeling unseen in a village, township, kasi, or small town: your story matters, your presence matters, and your voice deserves space.โœŠ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒโœŠ๐Ÿพ

IDAHOBIT IS RECOGNISED ACROSS THE WORLD - BUT IN OUR VILLAGES AND SMALL TOWNS, ARE Q***R PEOPLE TRULY SAFE, SEEN, HEARD AND UNDERSTOOD?

This virtual dialogue will confront the realities many still whisper about in silence: violence, rejection, survival, identity, visibility, and what it truly means to be q***r beyond big cities.๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ

Join organisations, activists, and community voices as we unpack whether the message of IDAHOBIT has genuinely reached our communities โ€” and what inclusion looks like where being visible can still come at a cost.๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

MOTHERHOOD HAS NO SINGLE FACE

To our q***r mothers, le***an mothers, chosen mothers, caregivers and nurturers โ€” your love is valid, your presence is powerful, and your motherhood deserves to be seen and celebrated loudly.

Being q***r does not erase your ability to love, raise, protect and pour into others with softness, strength and sacrifice.
You are mothers in every beautiful sense of the word.

Happy Belated Motherโ€™s Day to the women who continue to mother through courage, love and resilience.๐Ÿงก๐Ÿงก
