This week, Civitas Johannesburg hosted their Marketing & Sales Mini Conference, bringing together 70 founders and CEOs for a series of fast-paced talks from people actively building, selling and growing businesses.



From understanding the humans behind the numbers and learning from influencers, to getting marketing and sales playing by the same rules, measuring what actually matters and building a repeatable sales engine - the morning was packed with practical insights for growing businesses.

AI is moving fast. For many founders and CEOs, the challenge isn’t knowing they should be using it - it’s knowing where to start and what’s actually useful.

That’s exactly what we explored at our Johannesburg Intimate Event: Prompt to Profit – Simple AI Wins to Save You Time and Money, hosted by Erin Anastasopoulos APC, ICF and led by Dominic Santo, founder of Codexpress.

In this practical, hands-on session, Dominic cut through the AI noise, showing members how to use AI as an extra set of hands - solving everyday business challenges, writing smarter prompts and identifying where AI can genuinely save time and money.

On 1 September, we’re excited to welcome Stef du Plessis, world-renowned motivational speaker and culture transformation expert, for an upcoming Civitas half-day workshop: The Patterns Behind Performance.



Because culture isn’t what’s written on the walls. It’s what people experience, expect and accept every day.



During this practical workshop, Stef will explore the cultural patterns that influence performance and what founders can do to create workplaces where people take ownership, adapt and perform at their best.



Ahead of the workshop, participating businesses will also complete the UGRs Stock Take - a unique culture survey used by organisations including McLaren, Barclays and Kmart. Stef will use the combined findings to give us a snapshot of the cultural realities facing founder-led businesses today.
