Strengthening Africa’s Voice in Global Risk Management.

Representing IRMSA, IFRIMA and FARMA, Yvonne Mothibi, joined African Risk leaders at the Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria (CRMI) Conference and strategic FARMA engagements in Lagos on 14–15 October 2026.

More than a conference, this was a powerful platform for African risk leaders to unite, exchange knowledge, strengthen strategic partnerships and advance a shared vision for the profession. A reminder that Africa’s greatest strength lies in collaboration, and its future in the power of collective leadership.

By bringing together risk management professionals, institutions and thought leaders across borders, we create opportunities to elevate professional standards, amplify Africa's voice and collectively address the challenges and opportunities shaping our continent.

Strong leadership. Bold conversations. A shared global vision.

IRMSA has recently engaged with the IFRIMA Board in Philadelphia, USA, where a key priority is the development of a Global Professional Development Certification Framework a unified benchmark for risk professionals worldwide.

This important initiative, led by IRMSA CEO Yvonne Mothibi in her role as IFRIMA Secretary General, reflects IRMSA’s proud contribution in representing South Africa and the African continent on the global stage.

The work marks a significant step toward harmonising competency standards, strengthening the credibility of the profession, and enhancing global recognition and mobility for risk professionals.

Under the leadership of IFRIMA President Frank Baron, the vision remains clear: to connect regions, amplify diverse perspectives, and build a resilient global risk community.
