Strong leadership. Bold conversations. A shared global vision.

IRMSA has recently engaged with the IFRIMA Board in Philadelphia, USA, where a key priority is the development of a Global Professional Development Certification Framework a unified benchmark for risk professionals worldwide.

This important initiative, led by IRMSA CEO Yvonne Mothibi in her role as IFRIMA Secretary General, reflects IRMSA’s proud contribution in representing South Africa and the African continent on the global stage.

The work marks a significant step toward harmonising competency standards, strengthening the credibility of the profession, and enhancing global recognition and mobility for risk professionals.

Under the leadership of IFRIMA President Frank Baron, the vision remains clear: to connect regions, amplify diverse perspectives, and build a resilient global risk community.

Moments like these remind us that real progress is never achieved in isolation it is shaped through collaboration, insight, and a shared purpose!

Advancing Risk‑Resilient Enterprises in Africa

The official launch of the Association for Risk and Insurance Management in Togo (AMRAT) in Lomé marks a major step towards integrated, forward‑looking risk management for African enterprises.

Bringing together leaders from the banking, insurance, financial, and institutional sectors, the event underscored the urgency of anticipating emerging risks, strengthening risk culture, and embedding risk management as a strategic driver of resilience and growth.

Aligned with the Risk and Resilience Days Lomé 2026, AMRAT is set to play a pivotal role in building skills, sharing best practices, and supporting businesses to navigate climatic, technological, geopolitical, and economic risks with confidence.
