A FEW DAYS IN ONE OF THE CAPE’S HOTTEST ESCAPES RIGHT NOW: HERMANUS. 🐋

Scenic roads from Cape Town, seafood at La Pentola overlooking Walker Bay, whales cruising past, clifftop walks through coastal fynbos, local art, and making friends with a dassie on the rocks.

A little spa time at The Marine, the hotel lounge, and that very good feeling of having nowhere to rush to.

Fisherman’s Cottage for old-school Hermanus charm and its famous seafood, Fernkloof for wild fynbos and mountain views, and a private Marine Drive penthouse with 180° ocean views — where whale watching continues from the balcony.

There’s golf with mountain-and-sea views, boat trips into Walker Bay for close-up whale encounters, horse riding, kayaking along the coastline, paragliding above the cliffs, mountain biking through the Overberg — and plenty of ocean time for those who like their escapes with a little adventure.

Then the scenic drive through Hemel-en-Aarde, with the canola fields currently looking ridiculously good, before open fire cooked lunch and wine at Gabriëlskloof.
