The scratch build HMS Trincomalee nearly done.
KRunning rigging , hand carved figure head, anchors and rudder remain to be finished.
Once the ship is mounted on its presentation board it will travel to its owner in Scotland!

The scratch build of HMS Trincomalee moved along. The hull is done and the decks populated. Two ships boats and the guns were installed over the past six weeks. Two more boats will be added and then the masts made up. Rigging is scheduled for late May.
This replica of the “ last of Nelson’d frigates” is for a client in Scotland!

HMS Trincomalee scratch build taking shape slowly.
This is an order for a chap in Edinburgh. The ship it self is in Hartlepool fully restored and fondly referred to as “the last of Nelson’s frigates”.
Keeping me out of the bars and brothels of Simon’s Town!!

The Confederacy is now complete! My first attempt at an Admiralty Board style model. Quite a challenge but most rewarding.

The Confederacy is on the back straight now with the Ships boats, a pinnacle and a long boat, mounted on the skids. The quarterdeck guns are rigged and installed.
Still a way to go but a good months work.
Book open for your project next year!

The Confederacy now has its channels and chains installed with the lines of dead eyes. Also the gun port lids are in place.
Note the waist ladders are in and the gundeck is just about complete so the
cross beams and boat skids will be installed this month.
Such job satisfaction!!

The complex bow section is now complete. The figure head is on place and the boomkins rigged.
Slow progress but rewarding. Next, the wheel and binnacle to be built.

The Confederacy takes shape. The upper deck just about complete except for the waist and cross beams.) The ships boats will rest on those.)
The belfry rails and knight heads are in place.
A few months to go!

The Confederacy progresses. The gun deck is nearly done and work has started on the stove to be installed on the foc’sle under the cross beams.
The charm of the Admiralty Style presentation now starts so that various sections of the hull and decking are left uncovered to view the interior.Long way to go!
