Exciting news! VRCares is part of a new school build project for the Fundi Rainbow Foundation in South Africa 🌈
 
Their school in Lwandle has outgrown its space, so a new one is going up in Strand in the Western Cape. Two classrooms, a kitchenette, a sick bay, an office, and bathrooms. The current building is opening up for more natural light, and the garden that sat under weeds for years is finally being cleared to build a beautiful play area for the children 🛝
 
This is the first of many updates! We’ll be sharing our progress as we go along so keep an eye out! 👀💛

This Saturday, VRCares visited The 9th Day Animal Rescue Centre, a dog shelter in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Together they delivered: 280kg dog food, 12kg biscuits, 5kg treats, 102 blankets.
Home to 94 dogs, each with their own story, each waiting for love. 💛

The highlight of the day: as they were leaving, the shelter’s Adoption Bell rang, their tradition every time a dog finds their forever home.

Thank you to everyone who gave, shared, or showed up. 🐾

VR got their creative on 🎨

Mandela Day this year meant swapping laptops for paintbrushes and spending the morning at Hope and Light School.

We worked alongside the Community organization by team, an amazing group of young local painters who’ve brought colour to murals across their community and many others as well. Their mission is to give the community’s young creatives mentorship, skills, and real opportunities to grow.

It was an honour to spend a few hours alongside people who show up for this community again and again.💛

Earth Day was one for the books! 🌍 🌱

Yesterday it started with community cleanups at Smartie Town and Kingdom kids. Where 600 children received a hotdog for their efforts. 🌭

200 children also received their own little plant to take home and look after. 🌱

We also went and planted seedlings at Bizweni Garden and Smartie Town Community Garden. Something small today that can grow into something sustainable in the future.

And we ended the day off strong with a beach cleanup with the SURF4LIFE crew.🏄‍♂️

Thank you to everyone who took part and supported us yesterday. It was truly a good day to put a little good back into our Earth.

Lets continue this momentum!

Some kids just need somewhere to go after school.

Somewhere that feels like theirs. Somewhere that has structure, movement, and someone who shows up for them everyday💛

That’s what Piet’s Boxing in Sir Lowrys Pass Village is. Where kids are training hard, building discipline, and staying connected to something positive 🥊

They need equipment. They need resources. And right now, they just need more people to know they exist
