Here's a clip preview from our recent show with The Itch at the Paarl Town Hall. We've got a bit of history with the band, going all the way back to our very first gig on June 15, 2001, when Johnny and Leonard Smook were still with us. This annual charity fundraiser brings a night of non-stop classic rock covers from The Rolling Stones, The Police, Rodrigues, Bee Gees, Bad Company, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Deep Purple, Guns & Roses, and more. This year the show took place a week before Interschools in Paarl. The theme was the glitz and glamour of Elvis in Vegas.
We had an awesome technical team this year, along with Jacques and the JKM crew. The video was shot from the back of the hall on a handheld old Note 8, so the audio and visuals are a bit rough and ready. The Itch is Rentzke Smook (guitar and vocals), Kosie Steyn (guitar and vocals), Mike Hartung (bass and vocals, Jean Labuschagne on drums and Basson Laubscher (guitar and vocals). Enjoy them performing their cover of by [Original Artist]. Here’s a raw clip of The Itch in action, performing a live cover of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses.
