Uzingela Forestry originated at Waterkloof Estate in 2004, when the farm committed to being a part of the Biodiversity & Wine Initiative (clearing of alien invasive plant species on the farm together with fynbos re-vegetation). The Farm Manager, Christiaan Loots started training chainsaw operators, which eventually led to the establishment of Uzingela Forestry (Pty) Ltd in 2009, a company that was

solely responsible for alien clearing and fynbos re-vegetation on Waterkloof Estate. However, very quickly a need arose at the neighbouring / surrounding farms, battling with invasive plants, and committed to conservation efforts. Therefore, Uzingela Forestry started to do some work in the surrounding areas as well. Today, we have a small, qualified team, dedicated to fire break clearing, wood chipping, tree popping, alien plant control, tree felling, as well as bush & plot clearing. Headed up by Adriaan Engelbrecht (who studied Nature Conservation) since December 2011, Uzingela Forestry now has four chainsaw operators and five labourers. We are different from most other companies doing similar work, because our approach is with Nature Conservation in mind. We supply quality work and build long term sustainable relationships with our clients. We constantly follow up on completed projects to ensure that customers are happy.
