DIS WEER TYD OM SA SE BESTE CABERNET FRANC TE VIER!

Die vierde Cabernet Franc-fees word op Saterdag, 27 Augustus, op die pragtige Vrede en Lust by Simondium tussen die Paarl en Franschhoek aangebied. Wynliefhebbers sal van die land se beste wyne van hierdie Bordeaux-kultivar, wat by die dag in gewildheid toeneem, kan proe. Die fees word van 11vm tot 4nm aangebied.

Cabernet franc het die afgelope twee dekades met rasse skrede vooruit gegaan en vandag maak sowat 80 wynmakerye in Suid-Afrika ’n enkelkultivarwyn van hierdie druifsoort.

As een van die vyf kultivars wat gebruik word om Bordeaux-verskitte te produseer, bied cabernet franc aromas wat cassis, tabak, framboos, peper en viooltjies insluit. Baie mense tel ook sweempies fynbos op in die neus.

Cabernet franc is ’n puik pasmaat vir alle rooivleisdisse, braaivleis, wildsvleis en beesvleisbredies, asook vark en selfs sjokolade-nagereg. Of geniet dit op sy eie.

Wynkelders wat aan die fees gaan deelneem, Avontuur, Cape Chamonix, Druk my Niet, De Morgenzon, Doolhof, De Meye, Holden Manz, Le Pommier, Morgenster, Ormonde, Onderkloof, Raats, Rainbow’s End, Stellenrust, The Garajeest, Thor Vintners, Villiera, Vrede en Lust, en Zorgvliet.

Kaartjies is beskikbaar by Quicket (https://qkt.io/DaiUZu) en kos R300 per persoon. Dit sluit toegang tot die fees, parkering, ’n komplimentêre proeglas, koskoepon wat by die landgoed se Bistro op die dag gebruik kan word, gemaklike sitplek, lewende musiek en ’n proe van al die wyne op die fees in.

Onderkloof Wine Estate, situated in Somerset West, is looking for a wine enthusiast to take up the position of Tasting Room Ambassador on a casual basis, starting 4 September. This position is ideally suited for a student as our tasting room is only open on Saturdays from 11AM to 4PM. If you enjoy selling, storytelling and have a passion for wine, we would like to meet you!

Requirements
• Tasting room/waitering experience
• Excellent sales & PR skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - you must be
able to comfortably communicate and interact with a diverse
group of people
• Strong customer service orientation
• Pay attention to detail
• Target driven and show initiative to increase sales
• Neat and presentable appearance
• Be able to lift a case of wine with ease, to assist clients
• Must be 18+ years old with own reliable transport
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans. German would be an
advantage, but is not essential
• Candidates with a wine-related qualification (or third year
students in winemaking or oenology) will enjoy preference

Main Responsibilities
Meet and greet guests upon arrival
Conduct wine tastings
Manage administrative tasks such as invoices and cash-ups
Ensure that the tasting room is neat and tidy at all times
Monitor the tasting room area
Interact effectively with staff and customers

The successful candidate will be expected to work on Saturdays from 10:50 – 16:10.

Applicants need to reside in the Helderberg area as the wine estate is located in Somerset West.
