A little about Paris Makaringe to motivate your vote!😉
Paris Makaringe, is 28 year old social and political activist from Devland in Johannesburg. I dedicate all my effort towards creating platforms and safe spaces for children and teenagers ( in mostly underdeveloped communities) to receive access to quality education and other developmental opportunities.
Makaringe is one of the youngest activists working with the Department of Social Development’s Local Drug Action Committee (LDAC) in the Eldorado Park region and has been described as a nation builder by those who work closely with him.
I founded an NGO called Lonwabo Lwesizwe in 2016, with the aim of creating a go-to organisation for the youth in the Freedom Park area. Young people need to be kept off the street, away from the opportunities to engage in substance abuse, criminal activity and other behaviors that may bring harm to them and their families. .Along with that I'm involved in programs which provide access to early childhood development for children between the ages of three and seven. Lonwabo Lwesizwe took this into consideration and facilitates Life Skills that encourage safer lifestyles and practices.
My work at Lonwabo Lwesizwe supports women through a campaign called , which creates safe spaces for women to meet and discuss issues like femicide, as well as empower each other through networking.
I also run a “1000kids, 1000smiles” programme in Eldorado Park, Freedom Park, Devland and surrounding areas ,which distribute clothes, food parcels, school shoes, blankets and toys to underprivileged children within the mentioned communities.
As a professional facilitator with various organisations running drug awareness programmes at schools in the area I've learned plenty about working with the youth and being the type of adult they need to create sustainable futures.

_"These past few years have been proactive in honestly teaching us select important life lessons that we neglect in our day to day lives. With the reality of being scared out the thickness of your skin, to sitting in the dark corners of your strife, having to face the world within the confinement of your home. Too many of us found ourselves depressed with only ourselves to lean on for a helping hand, because it was impossible for anyone else to be there while fighting their individual battles. Despite that, we are forced to reflect on gained lessons which give us insight into surviving and overcoming a difficult and otherwise impossible living condition. Keeping safe and isolated from the world hits hard, but we've done well, we have learned how to appreciate life, ourselves and the people around us."_
Thank You
