My heart sank as I watched the clouds roll in from the 25th-floor restaurant. What was I going to tell my guests? Had I made the wrong choice by leaving 30 minutes early?
​The air was crisp and chilly as we arrived at the Table Mountain Cableway, with the clouds still looming overhead. Since we were one of the first groups there, we boarded the second car up the mountain.
​On our ascent, we ascended through the clouds and emerged into a breathtaking scene. Below us, the clouds created a pristine white sea, and above, Lion's Head, Devil's Peak, and Table Mountain towered in the clear air. It was a world from a galaxy far, far away.
​Stepping off the cable car, we were met with a stunning transformation. The sun was warm on our skin, and the wind was gone. We had an unforgettable morning on what felt like a different planet entirely.

My recent stay at this esteemed establishment was thoroughly delightful, and I wish to express sincere appreciation for the exceptional experience. Having previously visited the Numbi Hotel, I was eager to experience this new addition, which surpassed expectations. The hotel exudes a four-star ambiance, evident in its meticulous details, blending nature and Pilgrim's Rest mining town history with unique decor, including vintage name boards and a saloon-style restaurant. The rooms were spacious and beautifully appointed, featuring rustic wooden cabinets that enhanced the ambiance. The staff demonstrated remarkable friendliness and helpfulness, particularly in arranging game drives and providing complimentary early morning coffee and rusks. The Saloon restaurant's breakfast packs were a highlight, and the rangers delivered an unforgettable game drive experience. The cultural dances on the first night added a pleasant touch, and the grounds were immaculately maintained. Strategically located for exploring Kruger National Park, the hotel offers convenient access to multiple gates, including Phabeni Gate, situated 15 kilometers away. Overall, the Little Pilgrims Boutique Hotel provided a truly memorable experience, warranting a strong recommendation for weekend escapes, midweek retreats, and especially for pensioners seeking to visit Kruger National Park. This exceptional hotel boasts outstanding service, rendering it an ideal choice.

One of the unexpected highlights of our Kruger National Park visit near Leeupan was observing this young Tawny Eagle. Tourist guiding presents its share of challenges, yet the rewards often outweigh them.
My most recent tour served as a perfect example.
Small group tours, while intimate, can be demanding. The constraints of traveling in a smaller bus can sometimes lead to heightened expectations and potential disappointment.
As a guide, I rely heavily on the coach driver's expertise and personality, hoping for someone with both skill and a vibrant sense of humor.
And truly, a tour is blessed when the group itself is understanding and compassionate.
Fortunately, my last tour exceeded all expectations.
My driver was exceptional – not only a seasoned professional but also patient, kind, and genuinely funny. He connected seamlessly with the group, offering invaluable assistance throughout the journey.
Adding to this, the group itself was simply wonderful. We shared laughter-filled bus rides, engaging in thought-provoking discussions, singing along to music, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The time flew by, and all too soon, we found ourselves saying farewell at the airport. The experience was a testament to the beauty of South Africa, and I'd love to share some stunning photos that capture our journey through this magnificent country.
