Today I reflect with pride on Mauritius Independence Day, a moment that holds special meaning for me personally and professionally.

Born in Mauritius, the island remains close to my heart. It is a country known not only for its natural beauty, but also for its spirit of resilience, diversity, and entrepreneurial energy. Since gaining independence on 12 March 1968, Mauritius has built a reputation as a stable and innovative economy, creating opportunities for trade, collaboration, and investment across many sectors.

Through my work in business-to-business linkages, I have had the privilege of maintaining strong connections between South Africa and Mauritius, supporting companies that wish to explore partnerships, market opportunities, and mutually beneficial growth between our two regions.

On this important national day, I celebrate the progress Mauritius has achieved and the many individuals and businesses who continue to contribute to its success.

Happy Independence Day, Mauritius 🇲🇺
May the island continue to thrive as a bridge for international collaboration and opportunity.

I am very excited to be attending the Lekker Network Summit over the next two days. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet inspiring entrepreneurs, exchange ideas, and learn new strategies that help businesses grow and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.

Events like this create valuable spaces for collaboration, fresh thinking, and meaningful connections. I am looking forward to engaging conversations, learning from the experiences of others, and discovering new opportunities that can benefit the businesses and networks I work with.

Thank you to the organisers for bringing together such a dynamic community of entrepreneurs.

Are you keen to do a radio interview? Sure, that sounds exciting – I’ll happily be interviewed!

How did this come about?
By regularly attending business breakfasts at the Erinvale Club House with Action COACH Lindie Malan 📻

You see moving to Stellenbosch 2 years ago meant building new networks for the first time in this part of South Africa. It meant engaging for the 1st time with Cape based entrepreneurs and business owners.

I love trying things out for the 1st time. Let me tell you why.

I always remember very clearly things I attempt for the 1st time.
It’s the newness, it’s the adrenalin, it’s then saying to myself – see that was not so difficult. The next time around will be even easier.

Doing things for 1st time means I see things how I want them to be. When trying something for the first time it makes me realise that this is part of my vision process. It helps me figure out my Whys.

So thank you for inviting me to be interviewed on HelderbergFM93.6 Action COACH Lindie Malan and thank you to the team at HelderbergFM Radio who welcomed me so warmly this morning Lorna van Pletzen, Station Manager, Christie Hansen, Presenter and Yvette Mayhew, Account Executive.
