Are you yearning to take pics like a pro? Then this is just for you!

The Western Cape Institute of photography will be conducting a series of 2 hour, practical photographic courses every Saturday over 3 weekends in April/May. Furthermore, Studio22 will be sponsoring 25% of the photography course fees!

The 2 hour photography courses are great fun, practical and hands-on where you learn using your own camera. Candidates will receive course notes and a certificate of competency upon completion of each course.

1: 20th April (09:00 – 11:00):

Shooting in manual mode – “Know your camera and unleash your creative flair” (Now only R330)

*Knowledge of shooting in manual mode is fundamental prior to doing any of the other courses*

Whilst your camera does a pretty decent job in creating a beautiful “holiday” pic whilst using auto mode, the camera does the thinking on your behalf, thereby depriving you of your creative flare. If you want to express your thoughts and get the pro shots that you’re looking for, then this course will teach you just that! In “manual” mode you’ll have full control over your camera, thereby allowing you to shoot the pic you want…every time! From doing brilliant portraits through to picture telling landscape scenes and those milky waterfalls you’ve been yearning to take.

2: 4th May (09:00 – 11:00):

Composition – “Instantly turn everyday dull looking pics into striking images” (Now only R260)

Composition is the corner stone to creating a really stunning photo, irrespective whether it is a landscape scene or a portrait shoot. In this practical course, you’ll learn how to set-up and compose for a variety of subjects and scenes in no time at all.

3: 11th May (09:00 – 11:00):

Manipulating light – “Learn how to effortlessly work with various light sources, including speed lights (flash), torches, diffusers and reflectors” (Now only R330)

Photography is all about capturing reflections of light, as such we need to know how to manipulate the light in order to create the look, mood and feel in the photograph we want to capture.
