Hidden Valley Wines, nestled against the Stellenbosch Mountains, boasts a magnificent cellar amongst its pristine vineyards. In keeping with a holistic approach to the environment, the farm was developed to its current glory. Although the winery is a state-of-the-art, gravity f

ed cellar, it is nestled into the side of the slope and intended to blend back into the environment in time. The building materials, namely stone, wood and glass have been purposely selected to present a contemporary yet functional structure. The cellar is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, almond orchards and natural vegetation, each occupying an integral part of the farm's ecosystem. Sustainable agriculture is a common theme in every approach both in and outside the cellar.

SOIL TYPE Oakleaf and Tukulu

This vibrant, ruby red wine shows cherries and red fruit on the nose, complimented by notes of dried herbs and oak spice.
Luscious fruit follows through on the palate, with added smokey cigar box notes.
A full-bodied wine with well-integrated tannins, a fine acidity and long-lasting finish.Drinking beautifully now, or age for a further 8-10 years.

Deep ruby in colour, the wine reveals an expressive bouquet of dark fruit aromas, particularly ripe dark cherry and black plum, layered with subtle nuances of leather and cedarwood.

A delicate note of perfumed dried lavender adds a floral elegance, enhancing aromatic complexity. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and well-rounded opening with succulent dark fruit flavours, led by ripe dark cherry.

This fruit intensity is beautifully supported by soft, velvety tannins that are seamlessly integrated, contributing to a smooth and harmonious mouthfeel. Hints of oak lend additional depth and structure without overpowering the fruit, leading to a refined, complex and persistent finish.

CULTIVAR: 100% Syrah
SOIL TYPE: Oakleaf and Tukulu
ORIGIN: Stellenbosch

The diﬀerent lots of this wine were picked at optimum ripeness between 25 and 26°B. The grapes were bunch-sorted and then crushed to stainless steel fermenters.

A small portion was whole bunch fermented to lift the fruit profile and give complexity.
After about 2 weeks of skin contact the wine was pressed and only after malolactic fermentation the individual components were racked to 225L french oak barrels and left to mature for 16-18 months.

Only 35% new oak was used. Finally, the wine was blended, no finings were necessary, and filtration was only done at bottling

•A Historic Moment for Precious Hidden Valley•

20 February 2026 will go down in the history books of Precious Hidden Valley as the day we harvested our first grapes from our newly planted vineyards.

After just 18 months, our Cabernet Franc reached this incredible milestone, yielding just under a ton, a remarkable achievement for such young vines and a true testament to patience, vision, and dedication.

This moment was made even more special by the spirit of teamwork, as our entire team arrived at 6am to share in this unforgettable occasion. Together, we celebrated the beginning of a new era.

We were honoured to have Dr Precious Motsepe harvest our very first grapes, symbolizing the future of Precious Hidden Valley and the exciting journey ahead.

Here’s to new beginnings, shared passion, and the wines yet to come.

The Deck will be closed on Monday, 16 February and Tuesday, 17 February as we take a short pause for essential maintenance.
