I have this idea of creating a platform that connects graduates with no work experience to start-up companies so that they can gain the experience they need to apply for better positions at bigger companies that require 3-4 years experience.

Sabbatical

A sabbatical (from the Hebrew: שַׁבָּת Šabat (i.e., Sabbath); in Latin sabbaticus; Greek: sabbatikos σαββατικός) is a rest or break from work; “an extended period of time intentionally spent on something that’s not your routine job.”[1]

What is something that is absolutely worth the money?
Sabbatical.

In 2012, I quit my job as a lawyer, we sold our real estate in Honolulu, paid off all liabilities, and went on a 2-year sabbatical with our family.

We lived on the West Coast of US first, then Nice, Paris, Seville, rural Ireland, Bodrum, and Istanbul. It cost about $50,000 total -for a family of 4 and we also brought my parents and one of our kid’s friends for part of a trip.

We had an amazing time. Most of all because we spent uninterrupted time with each other and made life-time memories for our kids and parents. Also, we learned a lot about history, geography, culture. Ate fantastic food. Met awesome people. It was definitely worth every penny and more.

Why are most people broke?

Dumb Debt: You can see broke-people have iPhones and cars. They buy what they can’t afford to impress people they don’t like. In doing this, they either waste their income or collect credit-card debts. Which keeps them broke.
Exchange Time for Money: You limit your income when you only get paid for the hours you work. Poor People don't see this trap. One only gets rich by multiplying their money. This can be done by smart investing in Stocks, Real-estate, Roth IRA.
Zero Personal Investment: Income is a ladder which you have to climb. The only difference between a general doctor and a heart surgeon is their skills. Most don’t increase their earning potential. Don’t invest in books, courses or coaches.
Negative Image: When we don’t have an explanation, we can think that the rich get richer by stomping on the poor. However irrational, these unconscious beliefs influence their action. It acts as an invisible glass wall when they try to make more money.
Zero Financial Knowledge: Schools have never taught us about the basics of money management. People are blank when it comes to dealing with debts or investing money. And unfortunately, they never make an effort to learn it on their own.
