Our Story

FABLE - Farming Natures Table

Fable is located on Fairview Farm, bought in 1893 by George John Levey and has been in the Levey family for four generations. A family owned and operated business, we pride ourselves on our personal and hands-on approach.

At Fable we Farm Natures Table, working with natures and its timing to produce a product of high value and taste. The moral of Fable is if we nurture nature and its animals, in return it will nurture us with all its goodness.

Fable is Quality Assured by SAMIC and we stand for the following;

Naturally raised, our farmers belong to a Farm Assurance Programme which verifies Stock movements, Management systems, Animal health treatments, Feeding regimes, Animal welfare standards

100% Traceable from farm to consumer

Hand on approach in every step of the process, from selecting of the lambs, to final packaging and dispatch.

Ethically processed and minimal stress, this is shown in the higher carcass yields on the slaughter sheets. This is only possible if all these factors are taken into consideration; stress, humane handling, very little transport if nothing at all, kept in natural environment and slaughter techniques.

Omega 3’s - Grass /pasture fed lamb contributes significantly to high levels of Omega-3 and polyunsaturated fatty acids (what nutritionists call ‘good fats’).

All Fable carcasses are matured for processing

Each and every farm, farmer and animal has their own story to tell, it’s embedded in their DNA. From the land which they are raised on to how they are treated. With a rich and proud history passed on from generations, Fable farmers have a passion for the land and their animals.

Our animals are farmed from Natures Table, where they are nourished under natural conditions. Creating a product that is traceable, consistent with quality and of exceptional taste and goodness.
