Suspect Arrested Following Armed Robbery

Our Control Room received a panic activation in Brighton Beach after a suspect entered a premises, stole a cellphone from a staff member and threatened staff with what appeared to be a firearm.

Our Reaction teams were immediately dispatched and within minutes began searching the surrounding area. Thanks to the quick coordination and communication between our TSS members, the suspect was located near Tara Road and Boshoff Street.

After attempting to flee, the suspect was swiftly apprehended by our Reaction officers, with the stolen cellphone recovered and the firearm, which was identified as a gas gun, secured.

SAPS Brighton Beach attended the scene and the suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

We commend our Reaction officers for their quick thinking, teamwork and professionalism, ensuring the safety of the client and staff involved.
