There’s something special about seeing our vines looking so good as the season unfolds. With healthy growth and promising conditions, we’re looking forward to what could be a wonderful season in the vineyards.

🌿 Remembering 1969

Today, we remember the devastating Tulbagh earthquake of 29 September 1969 — an event that forever became part of the history of our beautiful valley.

So much was lost, but from the ruins came strength, resilience and renewal. The Tulbagh community rebuilt, restored and carried on, preserving the heritage that makes our town so special.

At Tulbagh Winery, we are grateful to be part of this story — a story that stretches back to 1906. Today, we look around at our beautiful valley, our vineyards, our community and the w**e we continue to make, and we are simply thankful for how far we have come.

We remember. We honour. And we are grateful for today.

For us at Tulbagh Winery, Heritage Day is about more than celebrating South Africa — it’s about celebrating our own little piece of its story.

Since 1906, generations of people have walked these vineyards, worked the cellar, nurtured the vines and poured their passion into every bottle.

We’ve seen seasons change, families grow, and the w**e industry evolve, but one thing has remained the same: our love for this beautiful valley and the w**es we make here.

More than 120 years later, we are still proudly South African, still rooted in Tulbagh, and still raising a glass to the people and places that make our heritage so special.

Happy Heritage Day from our family to yours. 🇿🇦

Heritage Day is all about celebrating the people, traditions and stories that make South Africa so wonderfully diverse.

This year, we’re giving our hardworking staff a well-deserved day off to enjoy the public holiday with their loved ones.

Please note that Tulbagh Winery will be closed on Thursday, 24 September, but we’ll be back and ready to welcome you on Friday and Saturday during our normal trading hours.
