Tyeks Security Services in partnership with the SOS Children's Villages and TBHIV Care, held a mental health awareness event at the SOS Children's sports ground on Saturday October 19.
The event, attended by mental health and security experts, was aimed at education communities and young people on the link between mental health problems and human safety.
Executed in a form of a soccer tournament involving SOS Children's Villages, Sidwadwa Primary School, Thembelihle Children's Home and Siyakhana Children's Home. The tournament was eventually won by the hosts, SOS, beating Sidwadwa by 2-0 in the final.
In-between the matches, mental health and security experts gave insight into the different types of mental health problems and how they can lead to one committing violent crimes.
The event and the soccer kits and trophies were fully sponsored by Tyeks Security Services.

As the nation observes October as Mental Health Awareness Month, mental health and safety/security experts have discovered a link between mental health problems and violence.

Domestic, social and corporate violence, are some of the most common aggression factors typically caused by strained mental health.

Tyeks, in association with the SOS Children's Villages, the SAPS and TBHIV Care will, on Saturday October 19, unpack the societal and domestic dangers of neglected mental health.

Four homes for abused and orphaned children will battle it out on the soccer field in a mini tournament, while mental health and security experts will issue relevant tips in-between the matches.
They'll be sharing how neglected mental health can compromise the safety and security of sufferers and those around them.
A mentally healthy nation is a safe nation.

Tyeks Security Services has noted with contempt, a page opened under its name, which strives on fabricating stories about the security industry using the Tyeks company emblem.
Most recently, the malicious individuals behind this page, under the Tyeks badge, posted a report linking fellow security company, Ka -Myaluza as having not paid it's staff members.
Tyeks Security Services distances itself from these misleading and character-assasinating reports, as bad-mouthing rival businesses falls against our commercial values and principles.
We shall continue to respect the rights of fellow security companies to trade freely without prejudice, in line with, not only our business principles, but a general constitutional awareness of one's right to dignity.

Tyeks Security Services was proud to be among the sponsors of this year's Race Against Underage Drinking in Beacon Bay East London on Sunday. The race was hosted by the Eastern Cape Liquor Board under the theme "Say No To Underage Drinking", which saw scores of individuals, young and old and various running clubs partaking.
The race comprised of 2.1km, 5km and 21km.
