Not all inks are created equally!
Bottled inktank or megatank inks are a fantastic way to reduce your cost of printing.
You can save even more money by using generic ink bottles, but is generic ink up to the job? Here at Ink Unlimited, we try to answer all your printer-related questions, so here goes!
It very much depends on what you are printing. For most standard printers printing everyday documents, the generic ink is a great option. Now, thngs start to change a little when you want to print photos or pictures that will be exposed to UV light. We have found that the generic inks, although they print a picture very well, tend to fade faster than original brand ink. This is because it is normally dye-based ink. For images that need to stand up to UV, the ink needs to be a pigment ink. It is important to make sure if your printer comes with pigment ink you replace the ink with pigment ink. The reason being is the printheads are designed to work with that type of ink and that specific viscosity.
