Why is it important?
Planning plays a key role in the implementation of education, training and development initiatives. Hence the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP), which allows an organisation to identify areas where skills are needed and plan interventions to answer the needs.

WSP's provide SETA's with the information it needs to compile a meaningful Sector Skills Plan especially for Scarce and Critical skills. Once the organisation has submitted a duly completed WSP on time, a grant amounting to 50% of the levy will be paid to the organisation which includes amounts due for both the ATR and the WSP. This will ensure that organisations have funds that can be utilised for the implementation of training.

Towards the end of each financial year, every organisation that submitted a WSP is required to submit an Annual Training Report (ATR). This report reflects the education, training and development activities of the organisation that were implemented. If there are significant deviations highlighted in the ATR from what was specified

It's all well and good having great intentions, but until we marry those intentions with consistent, focused action they will never amount to anything more than empty dreams.

To the best of my knowledge nobody has ever thought their way to success, no great business was built without effort and action, no legacy left without toil and strain.

It's time to stop thinking about what you want to do, what you want to achieve and to start doing it. The sooner you start the sooner you will be successful.

As a young adult I've come to understand and appreciate the emphasis I was taught, that for education to truly manifest it's full purpose we have to be open to learning and unlearning because the true nature of education is far beyond the exams and classrooms. Intention will set you apart from the ordinary student, determination and discipline will show you education in its element.
