Something new for us at GJS.

We’ve recently started installing wind turbines as part of our renewable energy offering.

In the right location, wind can work really well together with an existing solar and battery system. Solar generates during the day, while favourable wind conditions can provide additional generation later in the day and into the evening.

We’re looking forward to including wind in more of our renewable energy projects going forward.

From one property to the next.

There’s something to be said for the trust that comes with being handed another home to take from the very beginning right through to final handover.

From the electrical work beneath the slab, to wiring the entire home, installing every light and plug, and finally testing and certifying the installation, our team is there through every stage of the build.

Some projects mean a little more because they’re close to home.

We’re proud to have completed the solar installation for RLabs in Mitchells Plain.

RLabs has spent years creating opportunities for young people through skills development, innovation and entrepreneurship, making a real difference in communities both locally and beyond.

For us, this project was especially meaningful. Mitchells Plain is where GJS Electrical began, so having the opportunity to contribute to an organisation that’s investing back into our own community is something we’re genuinely grateful for.

A big thank you to everyone who played a part in bringing the project together. We wish the RLabs team continued success as they carry on making a positive impact.

One of the final steps before handover.

All the electrical fittings are now installed at Mount Royal, and our team is busy carrying out the final testing and checks before the project is handed over.

Making sure everything is working exactly as it should is just as important as the installation itself.

New project underway.

We’ve officially started the electrical installation for a new aircraft hangar.

It’s always great to be involved in projects like these from the ground up. Looking forward to delivering another quality installation.

Hard to believe it’s been almost 10 months since we started at Spartikus Estate.

We’ve now completed the electrical installations in 45 homes and it’s been great watching the development take shape phase by phase.

A good milestone for the team and a reminder that consistency beats intensity on long-term projects.

Bantry Hills, Sea Point.

The goal was to reduce electricity costs in a 64-unit apartment block, but roof space on the buildings was limited.

We installed the system on a separate structure from the main building on site to make proper use of the available space, while still integrating everything with the main supply.

33.6kW system installed with 60 panels with inverter and battery integration.

A clean, practical solution and a solid result...we couldn't resist including some footage of that view
