Job Description:
Our client, a well-established industrial retail distributor specialising in welding equipment, abrasives, and personal protective equipment (PPE), is currently seeking a skilled and customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a technical, industrial, hardware, or engineering retail environment and possess strong customer relationship-building abilities. Product knowledge within welding equipment, abrasives, and PPE will be highly advantageous.
This role requires more than simply processing sales transactions the successful candidate must be capable of developing long-term customer relationships while delivering professional and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently
Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professional client interactions
Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
Assist customers with product selection and technical queries
Promote products and identify upselling opportunities
Ensure accurate capturing of sales and customer information
Assist with stock handling, merchandising, and stock availability
Adhere to company policies, operational procedures, and compliance standards
Support sales reporting and general counter sales administration
Minimum Requirements
Previous counter sales experience within a welding, hardware, industrial, engineering, PPE, or technical retail environment
Good understanding of industrial products, welding equipment, abrasives, or PPE
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literacy and experience working on POS systems
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Strong administrative accuracy and attention to detail
Professional, reliable, and customer-service driven
