*HIJACKED VEHICLE RECOVERED*

At approximately 23:27 members SBA PROTECT were notified about a hijacking in the Chatsworth area. According to the victim the initial Pick-up Location at a Bus stop outside BP Garage, Arena Park Drive (vicinity of the animal clinic)
Two male suspects flagged down the victim driver for a private trip (operating without an app).
The suspects were picked up near the BP Garage in Arena Park and requested travel toward Higginson Highway.
Initially, they stated they wanted to go to Unit 3 first, then changed plans to Suncoast, agreeing on a cost of 200.
Approaching the Mobeni Heights intersection just before Higginson Highway, the driver noted the vehicle needed fuel and pulled into the Engen Garage.
The driver stated he would fill the fuel, but the passengers would need to pay.
The suspects refused, claiming they had been robbed previously by an Uber and could not pay for fuel. The driver offered to drop them back, leading to a minor argument before heading back toward Chatsworth.
The Hijacking took place
heading back toward Chatsworth past the Unit 1 off-ramp, the passenger behind the driver grabbed the steering wheel, resulting in a physical struggle.
The driver stopped the car on Higginson Highway.
The suspects forced the driver out, taking over the vehicle. The driver was moved to the front passenger seat where he was throttled by the suspects.
As the vehicle approached Unit 2, the driver managed to open the passenger door and fled on foot for his life, running up the Unit 2 off-ramp.
The victim flagged down a passing motorist, shouting that he had just been hijacked and pleading for help.
He was transported safely to Unit 7.
Upon reaching Unit 7, the victim and his boss made contact with Operations.
Tracking companies were immediately notified, and response teams regrouped.
With the assistance of Cartrack, the vehicle was successfully tracked and recovered by Cartrack, SBA PROTECT members in Palmer street in Durban Central
