For organisations using Fortinet devices, this should be treated as a priority. Exposed credentials can create a serious risk of unauthorised access, VPN compromise, firewall configuration changes and wider network exposure.

Recommended actions include:
• Rotating administrator and VPN credentials
• Ensuring Fortinet devices are fully patched
• Restricting access to management interfaces
• Enforcing Multi-Factor Authentication
• Reviewing authentication and access logs for suspicious activity

Your firewall and VPN gateways are critical security controls. If credentials linked to these devices are exposed, attackers may be able to bypass normal security barriers and gain access to your environment.
