Enhancing Supplier Capability Through Targeted Development

On 26 June 2025, South Deep Mine, in collaboration with the Centre for Supplier Development (CfSD), convened a Supply Chain Masterclass at the Westonaria Incubation Hub. The session was designed to strengthen the operational capacity of local SMMEs by equipping them with tools and frameworks critical to project planning, risk analysis, stakeholder engagement, and implementation tracking.

The programme included practical exposure to:

Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)

Gantt Chart creation

Stakeholder mapping

Real-world project simulations

This initiative forms part of South Deep’s broader enterprise development strategy, aimed at enhancing the sustainability, compliance, and competitiveness of host community suppliers.

🌾 On 14 May 2025, CfSD in partnership with Marula Platinum Mine, hosted a powerful Farmers Livestock Masterclass at Manyaka Hall, Ga-Manyaka (Limpopo) — bringing together over 150 local farmers.

🚜 The day featured expert talks from:
• Tau Leolo (Leolo Agri-Produce) – Pig Production & Processing
• Ayanda Mbotshelwa (Talitha Pharma) – Farmer Development: Commercialisation of Communal Herds
• Dr. Justice Masilela (Asante Veterinary Consultants) – Animal Health & Well-being

This event was a milestone in strengthening local farming knowledge and advancing livestock practices in the community.

💚 CfSD celebrated Health Awareness Month with a vibrant and impactful Health Day on April 25th across our Westonaria and Marula operations!

The day began with energizing aerobics sessions, followed by a powerful health talk by the Department of Health, and access to HIV testing and counselling for our staff.

🎯 A standout highlight was welcoming Dr. Lebogang Khesa, a professional chiropractor who offered:
