Happy Pinot Noir Day! 🍷 But why are we talking about Pinot Noir when BC doesn't make one? Well, there's a very South African reason~

More than 100 years ago, Pinot Noir was crossed with Cinsaut, then known locally as Hermitage, right here in South Africa. The result was an entirely new cultivar: Pinotage!

Today, Pinotage is recognised as South Africa's signature grape, but its story simply wouldn't exist without Pinot Noir.
