We were honoured to host a distinguished delegation comprising Dr. Fatima Cheikh, Assistant General Secretary, and Shaykh Ashrad Mohamed, General Secretary, representing the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema, established under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

The Foundation is engaged in the important work of identifying, documenting, and preserving significant Islamic manuscripts across Africa, ensuring that these invaluable cultural and intellectual treasures are safeguarded for future generations. It was a privilege to share our knowledge and contribute to discussions surrounding the preservation and conservation of Islamic manuscript heritage.

What a great visit for the Conservators meetup hosted by Nave Studio. As conservators, we are always learning about materials and processes used, and visiting historic houses gives us a collective group a chance to see how all the elements work together.

A sincere thank you to and for an engaging and insightful visit to the Rediscovering: Wolf Kibel and Lippy Li****tz exhibition. Thoughtfully curated, it opened a fascinating window into the experimentation, techniques, and artistic dialogue of an exciting era in Cape Town’s creative landscape.

So fortunate to have been able view some of the paper presented at this year's conference in Lima. The innovative thoughts regarding moving to a more sustainable and eco friendlier way of applying conservation and practices was a real eye opener. This is just the beginning to building a better understanding of our role. One of our Conservators is busy with a program that will give us more insight in how we can use local knowledge to better our skills in working towards a greener future.
