Stakeholders welcome drought response appeal

The United Kingdom -UK - says it stands with the Zambian people and has already released 230 Million Kwacha through Zambia's Social Protection programme.

This is to support Zambia's most vulnerable households respond to the drought situation.

British High Commissioner to Zambia, NICHOLAS WOOLLEY has also supported President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA's early Declaration of National Emergency and the Zambian Government's efforts to assess the needs in responding to the crisis.

Mr. WOLLEY says the UK Government is also supporting the Zambian Government to register an additional One million households most affected by the drought to receive emergency cash payments.

Meanwhile, Stakeholders have hailed President HICHILEMA for calling for Financial and Material support towards drought.
