The anatomy of the female spotted hyena is a classic example of how nature can be incredibly unconventional.

What you're looking at is the pseudo-pen*s, which is actually an elongated cl****is. It’s a remarkable piece of biological engineering, though it certainly makes life complicated for them.

Why it's so Unique?

Appearance:

It is almost indistinguishable from the male's anatomy, capable of becoming erect and even featuring a "pseudo-scrotum" made of fused l***a.

The "All-in-One" Portal:

They use this canal for everything. They urinate, mate, and—most impressively/terrifyingly—give birth through it.

The Ultimate Gatekeeper:

Because of this structure, mating is physically impossible without the female's total cooperation. She has to voluntarily retract the organ for the male to be successful, giving the females complete control over mate selection.

Here are 10 interesting facts about the hippopotamus 🦛:
1. Hippos are semi-aquatic mammals that spend most of their day in rivers and lakes to keep their skin cool.
2. The word “hippopotamus” means “river horse” and comes from ancient Greek.
3. Hippos are among the largest land mammals, weighing between 1,500 and 3,200 kg when fully grown.
4 . Despite their heavy size, hippos can run fast, reaching speeds of up to 30 km/h on land over short distances.

6. Hippos are herbivores, mainly feeding on grass, usually at night.

DID YOU KNOW
Waterbucks are surprisingly strong swimmers, often diving into deep water to escape predators like lion and leopards.

Their hair is coated with a greasy, waterproof secretion from their skin, which keeps them dry when swimming. The secretion has pungent, intense odor thought to act as predator deterrent.
