Yako Honey is an enterprise based in Kitwe, Zambia which was founded in May 2016 by Mr Brighton Chifunda and started running its operations in June 2016. Honey is currently the only product available as the enterprise wants to focus on just honey for its first year in business, however there are two different types of honey; Mutondo and Musamba. The Honey is purchased from BeeSweet, an organisatio
n that has been running for ten years and has over 13,000 farmers working for them. The honey that is purchased is packaged by BeeSweet and then ready to be branded with Yako Honey’s labels, which are printed by Granelle Studios. Yako Honey’s short term aim is to become a household name in Kitwe within the next 6 months, then eventually in the longer term become a household name worldwide within 5 years’ time. It also aims to promote empowerment among young people. This is done by providing employment for local youths and having various sales agents in local universities and colleges.
