SEG CBU Student Chapter Official Launch – A Success!

On Friday, 8th May 2026, the SEG CBU Student Chapter was officially launched at The Copperbelt University under the theme:

“Together, We Shape the Future of Geoscience.”

The event marked a key milestone for economic geology, student collaboration and professional growth. Highlights included the chapter’s journey since 21st April 2026, introduction of the executive committee, the vision and roadmap ahead, and upcoming field trips funded by SEG Zambia.

Special presentations were delivered by Mr. George Kabaso on mining geology and Mr. Robert Kaemba on exploration geology. Mr. Robert also gave a guest address on industry expectations and career pathways. Dr. Michael Musialike, academic advisor, emphasized academic excellence and sustainability.

The SEG CBU Chapter was officially opened yesterday. The chapter’s academic advisor, Dr. Musialike, received a thunderous welcome from the geology students. He clearly explained to the geology student populace the importance of SEG and why geology students should embrace this opportunity.
