5 Major Reasons Africa is Poor – Religion (Part 21)
_A comprehensive study by Rev Walter Mwambazi_

Any serious Pan-Africanist will easily recognize a quote attributed to the late President Jomo Kenyatta who apparently said, “When the Missionaries arrived, the Africans had the land and the Missionaries had the Bible. They taught us how to pray with our eyes closed. When we opened them, they had the land and we had the Bible.”

Odd and as funny as this may sound, it is a deeply troubling but true statement. All one has to do is look at the evidence, what Scripture calls “the fruit” and there you have your answer.

It is so ironic that Jesus said,

“Beware of false prophets [including many so-called missionaries and preachers], who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves [imperial elitists]. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit [peace, joy, love etc.], but a bad tree bears bad fruit [greed, murder, strife, exploitation etc.] A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them"

Look at the work of the colonial masters; tell me, does it qualify as good or bad fruit? The answer is obvious.

Even though there were those who genuinely brought the gospel and were ready to die for it as missionaries, they too were part of a larger plan by those behind them to accomplish their diabolical plan for control of resources, and what better way than through religion?

Below is the first of the five tools used to bring about the poverty we experience today.

CONTROL OF THE MASSES

Religion has been used time immemorial as a means to control the poor. This is done by instilling the “suffer now and benefit in the afterlife” mindset. It is this teaching that caused a great awakening of the protestant movement in medieval times when Martin Luther learnt the shocking truth about the mother church after his visit to Rome.

Religion controls the poor by teaching what is termed the “suffering” model. It is thus touted as a mark of piety and emphasized by “works”. If you suffer more, you get a greater reward in the afterlife epitomized by bliss.

Three key factors are erroneously emphasized.

👉 #1. Martyrdom
Taught and emphasized to young zealots who then senselessly commit su***de and suffer great pains to further the agenda of their leaders. Poverty and suffering are usually a great breeding ground for recruiting such people and then indoctrinating them with this teaching.

👉 #2. Suffering
“Pie in the Sky” is their lot, not “here and now”. Slavery, colonialism and the current status quo has been and continues to be fueled by this teaching. The idea is to show the poor that suffering is the greatest “works” that can be done to gain piety (holiness).

👉 #3. Money/Materialism is evil
Perhaps the worst paradigm as it opposes a “positive mental attitude” and justifies poverty in the minds of those who suffer from it. All money, property, ambition, assertiveness, confidence and the pursuit of success and wealth is seen as embracing worldliness and greed and thus are evil. Better is one to suffer and live in mediocrity than enjoy and live in success and prosperity.

Now The Law of Attraction declares that you attract precisely who and what you are. We are the sum total of our paradigms because these affect how we think and behave. What we think ultimately becomes who we are. Our character indeed shapes our destiny and that is always affected by what we focus our minds on all the time.

Now whatever we focus on, expands. And furthermore, whatever we believe, becomes. Unfortunately, for the majority of Africans under this religious spell, they do not realize that they already repel wealth. They view the wealthy as Satanists or evil worldly people.

They hold religious activities at a higher level than wealth creation activities. Anything connected to work and making a living is always placed at a lower place than religious activities. A typical church leader will reprimand a church member for missing church because of work. This reinforces the idea that work is evil, materialism is evil, career and financial pursuits are evil and that only church related activities are holy and right!

This could not be further from the truth!

I will be showing in subsequent articles precisely why this type of thinking is actually worsening poverty here in Africa. This type of thinking causes what neural linguistic programming calls “incongruence” and short circuits anyone’s efforts to create lasting wealth.

The irony of such thinking is that those who are in it still want and believe for money all the time as...
👉 It is seen in their endless tithing, seed sowing and other such giving which is done with the hope of becoming wealthy!
👉 It is seen in their endless prayers for “things” and declarations for breaking poverty and curses and screaming recitals against any generational setbacks.
👉 It is seen in the endless intercession whose focus is not souls and evangelism, or love and light but “bless me, bless me and bless me more Lord”!

How is that even right?

Sit inside a typical Charismatic intercessory session and hear what prayers come up. Most prayers are for financial breakthrough. Now if this is the case but poverty reigns supreme here in Africa including countries with the most powerful and richest pastors in Africa like beloved Nigeria, then something is inherently wrong!

If the pastors of these churches can become super millionaires and own private jets, but their congregants and nations still rank high in terms of poverty levels, then either the message is not true, or there is a problem with the receivers.

It is my view that the problem lies with the programming – that message which in its truest sense is not designed to emancipate and free people from the shackles of sin in its entirety – nope – instead it’s designed to free them from one form of prison, only to enslave and lock them in another prison – a prison for their minds.

This prison will keep them locked in poverty for their entire lives to the benefit of those elite who need to maintain this status quo.

It was a great African thinker who termed it the relationship of the horse and the rider and in this case, the common African man being the horse, and those who perpetuate this religiosity as the riders!

Next I will now tackle the concept of Kingdoms and Empires and show you how religion is used to justify such models and perpetuates it.

Do not miss!

Mulambo Haimbe Foundation Responds To Dangerous Garbage
==================================

Prince Takamado School pupils in the heavily populated Bauleni Compound have pleaded with Mulambo Haimbe Foundation, the Lusaka City Council and other stakeholders to come on board and remove the uncollected garbage piled at the refuse dump site, opposite the school, which health experts say pose a serious health risk.

And Mulambo Haimbe Foundation has written to the Lusaka City Council(LCC), proposing a co-operation partnership for the implementation of the Lusaka Urban Waste Remediation Project, the charitable organization has embarked on.

Mulambo Foundation formulated and embarked on “the Lusaka Urban Solid Waste Remediation Project” aimed at arresting, reversing and finding a lasting solution to the disposal and management of solid waste in the City.

According to the Foundation Director, Mulambo Haimbe, the foundation intends to work closely with stakeholders in the implementation of the project through networking, sharing synergies and leveraging on area of mutual benefits among business community, communities living within the City, solid waste management companies, community based enterprises operating within the City, environmental protection organizations, recycling companies and enterprises.

He said the foundation has identified Bauleni Township as the largest single community closet to its principle place of business which is in dare need of an urgent and immediate intervention by way of removal of piles of solid waste which have accumulated over sometime in close proximity to homes and water sources.

“The purpose of writing this letter therefore, is to invite the Lusaka City Council to join hands with the foundation to, as a first step, attend to the cleaning and sanitation of areas where the said piles of solid waste have accumulated within Bauleni Compound. This is to be followed by the holding of sensitization workshops and other activities aimed at preventing the recurrence of the situation currently prevailing in the community,” Mr. Haimbe said.

He said it is envisaged that from the proposed co-operation the foundation will take, will be by way of provision of specialized equipment, manpower and the technical know how to address this situation by the Lusaka City Council, while the foundation will be responsible for resource mobilization.

Mr. Haimbe said the foundation has sourced the initial finances for the purpose of kick starting the Project.

He said the Foundation will officially launch the project in the forth-coming days, whilst finalizing the possible terms of co-operation with its stakeholders.

The Mulambo Haimbe Foundation Limited is a not for profit Community Based Organization(CBO) whose aim is, among other things, to share hope, give back and change lives in the communities it operates in.

The foundation has its registered offices in Ibex Hills, Lusaka and therefore considers Lusaka Central District Business(CBD) and surrounding areas as its main operating area. The foundation is arrived to the unique position that Lusaka occupies as a Capital City and home of the most important symbols of nationhood such as State House.

And Princess Takamando pupils who mobbed Mr Haimbe as he was inspecting the area, expressed concern that residents risk being wiped out by perennial Cholera outbreaks as a result of uncollected garbage piled near the school.

“This garbage doesn’t look nice because it can bring diseases like Cholera or ConVid-19 outbreaks, “said one of the pupils.

The other one added: “Indeed, this garbage doesn’t look nice because when rain comes, there will be a lot of water and when this water scatters…children who like playing in water will be vulnerable to Cholera outbreak. There is need to clean up this garbage so that we can be saved. So, sir (Mulambo Haimbe Foundation) we are asking for your help. Do something because as Prince Takamando School pupils, we are very close to this uncollected garbage.”

The third pupil said: “There are many pupils at Prince Takamando who are careless…they eat anyhow…flies come from here (garbage dump site) and go to the food they are eating. So, sir help us.”

And in response, Mr Haimbe said, “I think you have heard from the young children about this situation. We can’t have this to continue. There has to be a solution and that is why we have found ourselves here today in order to sort out this problem. Nobody else has an initiative. So, we will do it and we invite everybody else willing to work with us to come on board.”

Zambia steps up its tourism promotion

By Jeff Kapembwa

Lusaka - Amidst an economic downturn spurred by spiralling debt levels, Zambia has stepped up tourism promotion with indications showing a 50-member delegation expected in the country to assess investment opportunities in the Southern African state.

Zambia, initially dubbed the “world’s favourite tourism destination” as evidenced by various natural resorts and natural wonders, the Victoria Falls, has in recent years stepped up expos to lure tourists to visit the country’s natural resources, unavailable in most of its neighbours.

Ronald Chitotela, the Minister of Tourism, who recently returned from Europe to showcase Zambia’s potential, said in a statement on Tuesday Spanish tourists expected in the country will be taken on a tour of various spots in Livingstone, sharing the border with Zimbabwe, before venturing into other areas where sites have not been promoted.

Recent meetings with various foreign and local tour operators during the just ended international expo which takes place annually in the Ifema Trade Fair Centre of Madrid in Spain attracted many interested investors seeking to come and venture into Zambia in the creation of Eurostar hotels.

The tour of the Spanish delegation is likely to bring international brand hotels and familiarisation to the Southern Tourism Circuit. Zambia would also be host to heads of states summit of Kavango-Zambia Trans Frontier Area (KAZA).

Chitotela had during the Spain Trade Fair meeting last month described Zambia a perfect destination for investment in the hospitality industry. Zambia particularly wants investors who can set up conference facilities of international standards in the country. The country has ample land for investors spurred by warm hospitality among its people.

Addressing delegates during the fair, which attracted scores of participants from the public and private sectors from across the world, Chitotela reiterated Zambia’s good climate for investment adding that the country had remained peaceful since its independence from Britain in 1964.

During the fair, a participant, Luis Cruz, also managing director of Euro stars hotel company assured the minister of his company’s willingness to sojourn in Zambia for investment prospects and needed more information to make a business decision.

Chitotela assured Cruz of Zambia’s political stability while remaining ideal for foreign investment. Maria Zarraluqui, another potential investor and Global Development Managing Director at Melia Hotels International expressed his willingness to expand his company’s business in Africa. Melia Hotels International will actively consider investing in Zambia.

Chitotela recently indicated his desire to make use of recommendations made by among other reputated international media houses, the Cable News Network -CNN- and Forbes to place the country among the best tourist destinations in the world during the year 2020.

According to local media, the two global media houses had while in Spain urged Zambia to remain politically stable to lure more artists that seek to visit the country and visit various natural wonders.

And Zambia Tourism Agency Public Relations Officer Betty Mumba was happy with the response from prospective tourists at the fair over their willingness to visit Zambia before the end of this year and that, according to Mumba, would help the ZTA to market the country in earnest.

Most of the visitors to the fair wanted to know the type of wildlife found in Zambia to which Zambia will use to market the country using its natural beauty, with the Victoria Falls as an icon of tourism.

Zambia and its neighbor, Zimbabwe, have hit international limelight after the two co-hosted the UNWTO General Assembly from August 24 to 29, 2013 which attracted various international visitors.

The event was objectively held to promote and develop sustainable tourism and contribute to economic development, international understanding, peace, prosperity and universal respect for, and observance of, human rights and fundamental freedoms for all, without distinction as to race, s*x, language or religion, according to data.

Recyclers Cringe as Southeast Asia Says It’s Sick of the West’s Trash
========================================

TELOK GONG, Malaysia — Black sedans with government plates raced through a town near Malaysia’s main seaport, flashing blue sirens as they approached rogue trash dumps.

The raid, in the town of Telok Gong this week, was among the latest efforts by officials to shut down unlicensed dumps holding plastic scrap imported from the United States and other rich countries.

“Everybody knows those dumps are illegal,” said Modh Faiz Tamsir, a butcher hawking fly-covered beef in a parking lot on Telok Gong’s main drag. “We don’t like them.”

After China, once the world’s primary dumping ground, abruptly imposed restrictions on “foreign garbage” in late 2017, countries across Southeast Asia began taking in the West’s plastic waste.
Within months, Malaysia, which has a sizable ethnic Chinese population, had replaced China as the world’s largest importer of plastic scrap. But this country, and others across the region, soon saw the waste as an environmental nightmare, and a heavy backlash has begun. With public support, some advocacy groups have urged officials to permanently ban the import of plastic waste.

But at a time when the world is awash in such plastic, some experts worry that this backlash could block the flow of raw material to Southeast Asia’s aboveboard recyclers and manufacturers — and raise the chances that plastic scrap will end up in rivers, oceans, dumps and illegal burn sites.

By imposing blanket bans on imported waste, “you’re potentially risking damaging the good recyclers’ business,” said Kakuko Nagatani-Yoshida, the United Nations Environment Program’s coordinator on chemicals and waste in the Asia-Pacific region.

Zambia lets Go the 'Green Mind'. Draw lessons from Malasia and avoid dumping garbage anyhow or risk facing the law from LCC.

President Trump has made eliminating federal regulations a priority. His administration, with help from Republicans in Congress, has often targeted environmental rules it sees as burdensome to the fossil fuel industry and other big businesses.

A New York Times analysis, based on research from Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School and other sources, counts more than 90 environmental rules and regulations rolled back under Mr. Trump.

Our list represents two types of policy changes: rules that were officially reversed and rollbacks still in progress.

The Trump administration has often used a “one-two punch” when rolling back environmental rules, said Caitlin McCoy, a fellow in the Environmental and Energy Law Program at Harvard Law School who tracks regulatory rollbacks. “First a delay rule to buy some time, and then a final substantive rule.”

But the process has not always been smooth. In some cases, the administration has failed to provide a strong legal argument in favor of proposed changes and agencies have skipped key steps in the rulemaking process, like notifying the public and asking for comment. In several cases, courts have ordered agencies to enforce their own rules.

Several environmental rules — summarized at the bottom of this page — were rolled back and then later reinstated, often following legal challenges. Other regulations remain mired in court.

All told, the Trump administration’s environmental rollbacks could significantly increase greenhouse ga
