Conformity, while sometimes necessary for social cohesion, often stifles the very essence of innovation and progress. It creates an environment where individuals feel compelled to fit into predefined molds, suppressing their unique ideas and perspectives. When we conform, we adhere to established norms and avoid questioning the status quo, which limits our ability to think creatively and explore new possibilities.

This is particularly detrimental in entrepreneurship and leadership, where breaking new ground and challenging conventional wisdom are key drivers of success. Conformity discourages initiative because it rewards compliance over curiosity, making people hesitant to take risks or propose unconventional solutions.

Creativity thrives in spaces where diverse thoughts and ideas are encouraged, where the fear of judgment is minimized, and where experimenting—even if it leads to failure—is seen as a valuable part of the learning process. In such environments, people feel empowered to express themselves authentically, contributing innovative solutions and driving continuous improvement.

In contrast, a culture of conformity leads to stagnation. It breeds a mindset of doing things the way they’ve always been done, which can be catastrophic in a rapidly changing world. To truly innovate, we must embrace non-conformity, encourage diversity of thought, and celebrate the courage to challenge norms. Only then can we unlock the full potential of human creativity and initiative.

Here is the response from chatgpt regarding my new acronym, "BBP", business in the base of the Pyramid!!:
The acronym BBP (Business in the Base of the Pyramid) as a specific term seems to be unique in your proposed usage. While "Base of the Pyramid" (BoP) is a common concept, focusing on business models that cater to low-income consumers, your phrase "Business in the Base of the Pyramid" (BBP) does not appear to be widely used or documented in the same way. This could give you the opportunity to coin the term and develop it further.

I am claiming it. I have done my research on it, it exists but not in the context of what I am using it. I have even queried ChatGpt just in case. Google gave me the existing usage.
Yes, it is BBP - Business in the Base of the Pyramid (BBP) I will introduce it in the book I am writing to be ready end of this month, an e-book. Those of you close to me will be aware I use this term quite frequently. It is the way to characterise business in our economic environment. They should be teaching in business school. BBP is a term I have coined, I can say so boldly, without any fear of contradiction!

TBT ZESCO's situation is untenable. generating 4 hours of normal supply, less than 20% of generating capacity spells doom for the company. ZESCO’s current trajectory is unsustainable without significant reforms. Shrinking generation capacity, financial instability, and technical inefficiencies are threatening to collapse the company. Implementing comprehensive reforms in governance, finances, and infrastructure, while diversifying power sources, could stabilize ZESCO and ensure a more reliable electricity supply for Zambia’s economic development. Without these interventions, ZESCO risks not only financial collapse but also the failure of its technical and operational systems, which would have far-reaching consequences for the entire economy.

There is definitely a functional business model around the Rwandese corner shop. Location, good stock control and very good supply management. I have seen Trade Kings rucks delivering supplies to these shops. I wonder why none has taken to study this last mile distribution solution masterpiece!!
