SEEDS OF PROSPERITY: ONE FARMERS SUCCESS STORY💪💪💪

Meet Mr Mwanaboi, a farmer from Kalomo District, who has been reaping bumper crops ever since he switched to planting Zamseed cultivars three years ago. He bought a tractor with the profits he earned in the first year. Today, three years later, Mr. Mwanaboi is the proud owner of a Ford Ranger. His message to fellow farmers:

“Plant Zamseed cultivars and enjoy the rewards for years to come

A New Year is like a seed. Brimming with potential. Full of life.
It is hope… determination… aspiration… to do better and grow.
As we step into 2022, Zamseed carries the spirit of the seed in our hearts.

Our New Years resolution is to work harder, better, and share the fruits of our labour with farmers – enabling them to become more independent and savour bumper harvest. May this year be full of health and prosperity.

Happy New Year from all of us here at Zamseed!

Tag your friends and wish them a Happy New Year!

Christmas is the warmth we need when the days are cold.

Christmas is breaking bread with family – enjoying the bounty of this good earth.

Christmas is prayer, love, and the spirit of sharing.

Christmas is the seed we sow and harvest joy all year round.

HOW DO YOU KEEP INSECTS AWAY FROM SOYBEANS?

Soybean is a hardy crop, however, it attracts insects as soon as it flowers. Farmers need to keep a watch for diseases and insect infestations. Soybean typically doesn’t get diseases if the field is new, however, if the same field is used repeatedly, the crop becomes susceptible to diseases. Insects can be taken care of by using an insecticide as soon as you notice Aphids or Bollworms. A preventive spray programme too can be used to avoid such problems in the first place.

Maintaining healthy soil and using good quality hybrid seeds such as ZAMSEED’s Lukanga variety too can ensure the crops grow healthy and resistant to diseases.

ADVANTAGE COWPEA: 5 REASONS TO PLANT THIS HARDY CROP

1. is a short-duration crop that gets ready for harvest within 110-115 days.
2. The seeds have a long shelf-life and do well in the market.
3. Cowpeas can be planted all over Zambia and perform well in stressful conditions.
4. The crop needs very little fertilization because it fixes its own nitrogen.
5. Because of its short duration, the crop rarely gets diseases.

Plant 20-30 kg per hectare of Zamseed’s Mutembwe cowpeas to get the highest yields.

Note: Protect cowpeas from insects such as beetles, aphids, and weevils, which attack the pods. Insecticide application should be done before flowering.
